Dear Families,
We LOVED reading books about underwear this week. The boys and girls enjoy giggling every time we said the word “underwear”. They liked designing boxers after we read the book titled Underwear. The kindergartners used unifix cubes to estimate how many cubes would fit in six different shapes. After they guessed, the boys and girls found the actual answer. The kindergartners made two more Christmas projects. The students made Uu booklets. More report card evaluations were done. (Please practice your child’s birthday, address, and phone number!) We talked about words, phrases, and sentences.
Don’t forget the Christmas party on Wednesday, December 21st. Boys should bring a $2 gift for a boy, and girls should bring a $2 gift for a girl. We do a fun number matching game to exchange the gifts.
School is dismissed early on Thursday, December 22nd. The town students are dismissed at 2:20, and the bus students are dismissed at 2:25. We students return on Tuesday, January 3rd.
Many kindergartners need new glue sticks. Please check with your student to see if he/she needs a new one. Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Daugherty do not have any more glue sticks to loan out. We would love some extra glue sticks for the classroom to use!
We will be learning about the letter Zz next week. Sharing for next week should be an item that starts with the letter Zz or an animal from the zoo. Friday sharing students may bring their sharing item ANY DAY next week.
Time in kindergarten is going quickly! Today was day number 80! Wow!
Mrs. Daugherty and Mrs. Turner
